Entertaining two energetic boys for a week in my small flat presents a challenge, especially when the weather is a bit changeable. Luckily, because of thermal pools, it’s rather pleasant swimming in the rain, and anyway the temperature is still 23+. Today’s swimming, however, was a six hour marathon at the “fun” pool in scorching sunshine. They encountered Italians of their own age in the queue for the water chute and seemed to make themselves understood, having a plan to build up the water at the top so that it gave them a boost when sliding down.
Other useful vocabulary has included a maxi cono, an enormous ice cream, shouting “Vai!” to hurry along the ones ahead of them in the queue, and gamberetti on a favourite pizza.
Off to a Fried Flower festival this evening. What could be better!
