The Twinning Process is Hotting Up!

Just when I thought I’d done the hard work and saved the Museum of Navigation from turning into a locked warehouse, I get several emails from canal people who clearly need me. The Canal Museum at Stoke Bruerne is having an open weekend on June 8th and 9th and wants to invite an Italian contingent. To my amazement, some of them are quite keen to go! (I thought given the age and lack of English of some of the old stalwarts they’d never stir themselves to make the trip, keen as they are about the twinning.) Equally, my correspondence with Dave Henderson at Stoke Bruerne museum indicates that there’s an English group raring to go to the Veneto in July.

Of course I’m delighted, but suddenly there seems to be an awful lot of organising to do. Flights? Transport? Accommodation?
